Working together, the FBI and Madison Police Department have started an investigation into why this was attacked. According to police Chief Shon Barnes, there could be an element in the incident that might remain beyond their perception. “We may never fully comprehend what drove her that day,” Barnes said. The victims of the shooting were 14-year-old Rubi Patricia Vergara and Erin Michelle West, 42 years old. West was an employee at the school, serving as a substitute teacher and recently in charge of the substitute program.
