FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an Amazon driver was found unresponsive inside a delivery vehicle Monday evening near Fruitland Park.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Clark Road in unincorporated Fruitland Park after receiving a report of an Amazon delivery vehicle running while stationary for an extended period of time, Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Stephanie Earley told Inside Lake.
When deputies arrived, they found the driver unresponsive inside the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital, Earley said. The driver’s name has not been released.
Lake County Fire Rescue Special Operations also responded to the scene, Lake County Communications Manager Lexie Farmer told Inside Lake. There was no danger to the public, she said.
The incident remains an active and ongoing investigation, Earley said.
