Billy Ray Cyrus has come forward with allegations of physical and verbal abuse against Firerose, sparking widespread attention and concern.
Billy Ray Cyrus Accuses Firerose of Physical and Verbal Abuse
Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from Firerose (real name Johanna Rosie Hodges) one month ago. He not only disputes her accusations of abuse but also claims in new court documents obtained by news outlets that she abused him.
According to the documents filed in Tennessee on June 24, Cyrus acknowledges being vocal, frustrated, and angry with Firerose in May 2024. However, he asserts that he has been the victim of verbal, emotional, and physical abuse by her.

The new filings include an affidavit from Cyrus’s manager, Scott Adkins, who alleges witnessing the described abuse. The documents state that Firerose, 36, threatened to sabotage Cyrus’s career if he sought to end their marriage. She also allegedly threatened to publicly claim that he wanted to divorce her because she needed a double mastectomy.
Cyrus, who has children with ex-wife Tish Cyrus and from a previous relationship, further alleges that Firerose knew she carried the BRCA1 gene mutation, which increases the risk of breast cancer, before their marriage but did not inform him.
In response to these filings, a representative for Firerose denied Cyrus’s allegations in a statement to news outlets on June 25. The statement dismissed Cyrus’s claims as evolving and described them as an attempt to divert attention from Firerose’s own allegations of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse against Cyrus, initially filed on June 14.
The statement also addressed Firerose’s possession of the BRCA1 gene mutation, defending her decision to undergo preventative surgery and criticizing Cyrus for questioning it.
Following Firerose’s allegations becoming public, Cyrus’s attorneys, Rose Palermo and Jason Talley, issued a response to news outlets. They expressed regret that Hodges had chosen to litigate their seven-month marriage in the media and stated that her accusations were confusing and suspicious, particularly since she allegedly begged Cyrus to forgive her and take her back just two days after he filed for divorce.
