Emily in Paris is a Netflix comedy-drama series written and directed by Darren Star. The series, which is set and produced in Paris, stars Lily Collins as Emily, an American who travels to France to bring an American perspective to Savoir, a French marketing business.
There, she tries to excel in the business while looking for love and dealing with a cultural clash with her “boring” and humdrum childhood in the Midwest of the United States.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, and William Abadie are among the cast members.
MTV Entertainment Studios produced the series, which was initially created for Paramount Network and received a straight-to-series order in September 2018, before moving to Netflix in July 2020. Filming started in August 2019 in Île-de-France, mostly in Paris and its environs.
Emily in Paris aired on October 2, 2020, to mostly good reviews in the United States, but was widely panned in France, with many French reviewers accusing the program of stereotyping Parisians and the French.
Netflix renewed the series for a second season in November 2020, with production beginning in May 2021 and a launch date of December 22, 2021.
Netflix renewed the series for a third and fourth season in January 2022.
Emily in Paris follows Emily, a motivated 20-year-old Chicagoan who relocates to Paris for its unexpected career opportunity. Emily In Paris Ending
Mathieu takes Emily on a Seine river tour and then shows her his apartment’s view of Paris. A panicked phone from Pierre, who is threatening to cancel his fashion show, interrupts their date. Pierre is locked up in his atelier on the point of a nervous breakdown, according to Mathieu, and will not reveal his new collection to anybody. Emily is fired by Sylvie, who blames her for shattering Pierre’s trust.
Emily’s coworkers advise her that firing an employee in France may be a lengthy and tedious procedure, so she can take advantage of this loophole. The following day, Emily receives a call from Mathieu, who informs her that Pierre has asked to meet her. Sylvie overhears this and goes to meet Pierre with Emily.
They view an outfit from Pierre’s new collection in the atelier. Pierre takes over the outdoors of his previous location to exhibit his new dress line, which the public adores and makes him the talk of Fashion Week. Emily throws a dinner party for Mathieu and Pierre at Gabriel’s restaurant to commemorate the occasion.
Mindy agrees to emcee and perform two nights a week at a drag club, but when she informs her bosses, they fire her, so she moves in with Emily.
Gabriel chooses to return to Normandy in order to pursue his goal of founding his own restaurant. Emily and Gabriel sleep together after realizing that this may be Gabriel’s final night in Paris.

Final Thoughts
Principal shooting for the first season, which took place in Paris and its environs, was supposed to start in early 2019, however, it didn’t start until August 2019.
Many scenes are shot at the 5th Arrondissement’s Place de l’Estrapade, including Emily’s first apartment, the restaurant (“Les Deux Compères”), and the bakery (“La Boulangerie Moderne”).
[24] Some sequences were also shot in Saint-Denis’ Cité du Cinéma, a film studio complex. Le Grand Véfour, the Pont Alexandre III, Palais Garnier, L’Atelier des Lumières, Rue de l’Abreuvoir, Jardin du Luxembourg, Jardin Du Palais Royale, Café de Flore, and the Panthéon are among the famous Parisian landmarks included in the series. A scene was also shot at the Château de Sonnay in the Indre-et-Loire province. In November 2019, further photography was taken in Chicago.
The second season’s filming started on May 3, 2021, and ended on July 19, 2021.
Paris, Saint-Tropez, and other areas in France were used as filming locations for the second season. Residents of the 5th Arrondissement saw the team as harsh, menacing, and excessively invasive during the filming of the second season in Paris.
Lily Collins has indicated that this season is situated in a COVID-free environment, as the makers wanted to assure escape via pleasure and laughter. Masks were taken off while on-camera and put back on after the action was through, which Collins said was tough to pull off.
