Travis Cruz, a well-known storm chaser and photojournalist, passed away this morning at 32. During this challenging time, my heart goes out to his wife, Heather, and his other loved ones. Our great friend and colleague Travis Cruz, loved by everyone, passed away at 1:13 AM this morning. We regret to inform you of this development.
Travis was the person you could have a good time with because of his unbounded excitement and his unwavering love for his family and his wife, Heather Cruz, with whom he was starting his life together. Years ago, as we were both chasing storms through the backroads of Kansas, I met Travis, and we immediately hit it off and started working together.
