A Kingman family is in mourning after the father of three was tragically slain while attempting to rescue strangers trapped in the mud after a storm.
The family became mired in the mud during the attempt to rescue them last week. As she tries to absorb what happened just a few days ago, Jennifer Woods is now trying to spread awareness about the risks of not having a professional tow and rescue the car.
“I just started screaming to the top of my lungs he’s dead! He’s dead!” Woods said. “So people would come running and get us out of there.”
Jennifer still finds it difficult to comprehend that her husband Ryan and their three children were searching for frogs in the dirt one moment. Not long after that, Ryan was killed when a tow ball hitch blew through the windshield of their Ford Super Duty.
Woods remarked, “I looked over, and I saw his face,” Woods said. “I believe he was gone that moment I saw it with my own two eyes.”
Before calling a friend, Ryan had asked for assistance in pulling his pickup out of the mud. “My husband and him just thought that they were doing it right,” Woods said. “But obviously it wasn’t.”
Dedicated Towing and Recovery Services When you’re stuck, it may be simpler and less expensive to rely on a buddy, but ultimately it’s always preferable to call a professional, according to general manager Zaid Marzokah.
“Recovery, there’s a lot of training involved, a lot of equipment involved,” Marzokah said. “So you never recover with a tow ball hitch. It’s weak. It’s not made for recovery; it’s made for towing.”

Jennifer and her children have already felt the effects of this choice. Her current goal is to stop similar incidents from occurring to other people. In order to prevent losing loved ones, Woods said, “I want people to know that there are proper ways of getting out of a situation like that so that they don’t lose their loved ones,” Woods said.
Ryan passed away when he was only 43. But Jennifer thinks his legacy is still alive as she keeps spreading the word on how to tow a car safely. Woods said, “I assume he’s saying thanks. And he wants me to carry on serving in his place here on Earth.
