Double Stabbing in Tampa Involved Students at USF

There is a death investigation in a double stabbing in Tampa, and the suspect and one of the victims are students at the University of South Florida.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Tampa double stabbing.

Last month at 4:26am, HCSO’s 911 Dispatch Center received a call from a man reporting that he and another individual had been stabbed at an apartment complex on North 46th Street. All individuals involved have been identified and accounted for, according to local law enforcement.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect and one of the victims are students at the University of South Florida.

In addition to the stabbing investigation, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a separate death investigation at 3600 East Fletcher Avenue in Tampa. At this time, detectives believe the stabbing suspect is the deceased individual involved in the death investigation.

The individual found deceased at 3600 East Fletcher Avenue in Tampa was identified as 21-year-old Hansel Pearson. Pearson and one of the stabbed victims were roommates at an apartment complex on North 46th Street, according to HCSO.

This is an active investigation, according to local law enforcement.
