On Sunday, the identities of three victims who perished in a shooting outside a Beverly Crest vacation rental were released. According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, the victims are Iyana Hutton, 33, of Chicago; Nenah Davis, 29, of Bolingbrook, Illinois; and Destiny Sims, 26, of Buckeye, Arizona.
According to a news release from the police, the incident happened outside a house in the 2700 block of Ellison Drive, north of Beverly Hills, at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. The women were hit by gunfire while they were in a car. Los Angeles police report that there were four more victims outside the vehicle.

According to authorities, two survivors drove to the hospital for treatment, while the other two were taken by ambulance. The suspect (or suspects) eluded capture as of Sunday night. There were no descriptions offered.
“We can confirm that this was a gun battle where the victims were shot,” said LAPD. “We can confirm this was not an active shooter situation or incident.” It’s unclear what caused the incident to occur. Officers are investigating whether there was a party at the time of the short-term rental.

“Investigators are interviewing additional occupants and witnesses of what happened here,” said LAPD. “That’s why we are somewhat limited on the information we are releasing to keep the integrity of that investigation.”

According to a neighbor who spoke to KTLA, the house frequently hosts party rentals. “It was a rental party house,” said Rachel David (Instagram account). “It’s not like all of a sudden; this neighborhood is crazy. It was just that somebody didn’t check who was renting that house.”
