In a press release, Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier noted that the second girl had abandoned her plans. Meanwhile, Authier reported that the daughter, 12, and her father, also shot, were recovering in the hospital.

According to the announcement, the shootings occurred on September 21 at approximately 11:30 PM. The girl was found lying in the street with a headshot wound when deputies responded to a complaint in the northwest part of Parker County. Underneath the young woman, police discovered a pistol.
The girl’s father was discovered inside the house with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The teenager allegedly shot her father before fleeing the place and killing herself.
Investigators say the child and another juvenile from Lufkin, Texas, conspired to kill their families and pets for weeks. According to the sheriff’s office, the Weatherford teen planned to murder her family and pets before traveling to Lufkin and picking up the other teen to flee to Georgia.
According to the Lufkin County Sheriff’s Office, a teenage female planned to kill her father but ultimately decided against it. With the alleged murder plan, the Lufkin girl has been charged with criminal conspiracy. Both the shootings and the alleged plot are still being looked into.
