Following the rescue of a burglar a homeowner had shot in Florida, the state’s police had issued a warning to offenders.

In a press conference on Friday, Haines City Police Chief Gregory Goreck said, “One should assume that there may be repercussions if you are audacious enough to break into someone’s residence and it is not yours, with intent to perform an unlawful crime.”

He stated, “We live in Florida, specifically in Polk County, and most people are armed.

When a Florida man with a concealed weapon permit returned home on Friday, he discovered two intruders breaking into his home. Goreck was called to the scene of the crime.

Before the suspects fled the scene, the homeowner fired his revolver, hitting one of them.

Using a canine police officer, Haines City police officers were able to catch up with the injured suspect at a nearby park. Goreck said, “At that point, the cops changed focus and gears and went from a search and locate and apprehend to saving this individual’s life.

Even though this was a felon, who had been illegally inside someone’s residence.

Tyriek Tramaine Washington, a 27-year-old suspect, was hospitalized with several gunshot wounds that are not thought to be life-threatening. The event is still under investigation, and authorities are looking for the second suspect.

Before officers concluded that the homeowner had lawfully defended his property, they said the homeowner cooperated fully with them and answered all their inquiries.
