According to officials, a shooting occurred on Sunday at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, leaving one person dead and four others injured. According to a university statement, the shooting at an outdoor basketball court on campus at around 4:30 p.m. is being investigated by the school’s police department in conjunction with Tallahassee police.
The shooting claimed the life of one adult male victim. The statement said, “Four other victims—three adult males and one young male—suffered minor to serious injuries. The victims don’t seem to be any Florida A&M students, according to the institution. There is no immediate concern for public safety, according to the authorities. At this moment, neither a suspect description nor information about the occurrence is available.

FAMU President Larry Robinson stated, “I want to reassure the FAMU community that the gunshot incident that took place on campus is not a continuing threat to the University.” The main concern, according to Robinson, is to ensure the safety and security of both the school and the kids. Following the shooting, a shelter-in-place warning was issued; however, it has already been revoked, according to the institution. Police requested that anybody who may have seen the incident but did not speak to an officer on the scene call TPD.
