The driver of a Kia Forte travelling northbound on Harbor Boulevard at high speeds collided with a Volkswagen Passat that was turning east onto La Entrada Place. The Kia Forte driver was not injured in the collision. Both vehicles were involved in a collision with a wall located on the northeast corner of the crossroads, after which they spun out and came to rest close to a bus stop.

A Dodge Neon that was travelling north on Harbor Boulevard at the same time as the incident swerved to escape it but ended up losing control of its vehicle and came to a stop at the junction of Harbor Boulevard and Hermosa Drive.
The Kia’s driver, who was 29 years old, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The identity of the victim has not been made public until the notification of their relatives.
The driver and passenger of the Volkswagen, as well as a passenger in the Dodge, were all sent to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. According to police statements made on Sunday evening, the inquiry into what caused the incident continued. It was not believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
