American business executive and engineer Timothy Donald Cook (born November 1, 1960) has been Apple Inc.’s chief executive officer since 2011. Cook was the company’s COO when it was still led by Steve Jobs. When Cook started working for Apple in March 1998, he was the company’s senior vice president for worldwide operations. Later, he was promoted to executive vice president for worldwide sales and operations.
Before Jobs’ death in October 2011, he was named CEO on August 24. During his presidency, he has pushed for changes in policy concerning domestic and foreign surveillance, cyber security, domestic production, and environmental protection. Since becoming CEO in 2011, Cook has doubled Apple’s revenue and profit and increased the company’s market worth from $348 billion to $1.9 trillion between 2020 and 2021.

The United States city of Mobile, Alabama, is where Cook was born. He attended Robertsdale area Baptist churches as a child and was subsequently baptized. His mom, Geraldine, was a pharmacist, while his dad, Donald, worked on ships.
Cook completed his high school education at Robertsdale in 1978. Auburn University granted him a BS in industrial engineering in 1982, and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business gave him an MBA in 1988.

The 1996 misdiagnosis of Cook with multiple sclerosis caused him to “view the world in a different manner,” as he put it. Since then, he has participated in fundraising activities, such as bike races, to aid in the fight against the disease. He blamed his problems on “lugging around a bunch of hefty bags,” he explained to the Auburn alumni magazine.
They shared an uncommon blood type, so in 2009, Cook offered Jobs a piece of his liver. When Jobs heard this, according to Cook, he yelled “This is something I would never allow. Cook claimed to have previous experience in public office, even though he is a political novice in DeKalb County. “When I lived in rural Pennsylvania, I decided to run for a position on the local school board. Unfortunately, I did not win the election the first time I ran. Cook stated, “I was glad to serve on the school board after I was elected the second time I ran for the position.”
