Jason Hoppa Bond Conditions Tightened in High-profile Murder-for-hire Case

In a murder-for-hire case in Green Lake County, one of the two defendants is prohibited from communicating with either his father, the other defendant, or his brother, who the prosecution claims was the intended victim. The identical allegation against his father, Joseph Hoppa, 62, is also brought against Jason Hoppa, 38, and is Solicitation of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.

On Tuesday, the court issued a restraining order prohibiting Hoppa from owning any lethal weapons and from making any kind of contact with his father, brother, or brother’s children, even by means of a third party.

He is also not permitted to enter his father’s land. The Hoppas’ preliminary hearings in Green Lake County Court are planned for February 28. Online court records demonstrate The hearing on Tuesday lasted 8 minutes.

According to what we’ve been reporting, the Hoppas allegedly paid a man $40,000 to “take out” the intended victim, who was the main heir to a relative’s estate. The Hoppas allegedly made the offer in July, according to the target individual. He called the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office in October and expressed his inability to continue living with the facts.

He claimed Jason Hoppa had “a lot of firearms” and planned to remove one of the serial numbers to make it untraceable. The serial numbers had been ground off of a Beretta Grandone VT when police with a search warrant discovered it. The criminal complaint states that a 20-gauge sawed-off shotgun was also discovered.

The Hoppas allegedly denied planning to have the son killed or injured, according to the complaint. According to Joseph Hoppa, the intended hitman was the one who mentioned hurting his son.
