After spending the evening with his buddies at a well-known River North tavern, Szubert vanished on Saturday. Before spending two hours at the Howl at the Moon pub at 26 W. Hubbard St., where Szubert was last seen at 9:45 p.m., the group visited the Chriskindlmarket.
A friend, Michal Osiecki, stated, “We assumed that since we couldn’t find him inside the pub and he wasn’t picking up his phone, he just got an Uber back with someone else.”
When Szubert’s friends learned he was gone on Sunday morning, they went back to River North to retrace their movements and distribute flyers. Next weekend, Szubert was supposed to fly back to Poland. Detectives from Area Three of the CPD are looking into his passing.
