According to a post made on the Facebook page of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, a two-car collision resulted in the injury of a woman and the extrication of an injured male from one of the vehicles involved. The sheriff’s office reports that officers responded to a report of a collision involving two vehicles at approximately 3:35 p.m. on North Ridge Road near Sivon Drive in Painesville Township.
During the course of the inquiry into the accident, it was discovered that a red 2022 Dodge Charger was travelling west on North Ridge Road approaching Sivon Drive. On North Ridge Road, close to Sivon Drive, a blue 2017 Mazda 3 was travelling in the eastern direction. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Dodge Charger crossed the double yellow line and drove left of centre before colliding with the Mazda.

The sheriff’s office reports that the force of the collision led the Mazda 3 to leave the eastbound lanes and come to a stop in the westbound lanes, where it had been travelling before the collision. The sheriff’s office reports that the Dodge Charger exited the lane and collided with a fire hydrant before coming to a stop against a power line pole. The vehicle then rolled onto its driver-side door after the collision.
Injuries were incurred by the female driver of the Mazda 3, and she was sent to Tri-Point Medical Center for treatment after the collision. According to the sheriff’s office, the man who was driving the Dodge Charger had to be extracted from the vehicle using mechanical means. His wounds were attended to at the MetroHealth Trauma Center when he was transported there.
According to the statements made by the sheriff’s office, the severity of his wounds is not known at this time. At this point, it does not appear that alcohol played a role in the incident. The cause of this crash has not yet been determined.
