Detectives from the Lake County Sheriff‘s Office recently began an investigation into a homicide at an Altoona home and now have the person of interest as regards the death.
The Sheriff’s deputies responded to 19331 E. Altoona Road regarding a dead man found at the residence.
The body of Ernie Wayne Wilburn, 44, has been discovered.
According to Lt. John Herrell, witnesses in the home couldn’t explain what happened to Wilburn.
Going forward, Lt. Fred Jones said the investigators are seeking to talk with the person of interest they have come in contact with as regards the death.
Injuries were evident, but it’s unclear what particularly caused the death.
Evidence has been gathered, but toxicology results are yet to be obtained.
