Man brandishes ‘sword cane’ at Mount Dora pool hall

Mount Dora, FL…

man was arrested Sunday after brandishing a ‘sword cane’ and slashing people at Shea’s Fat Cats billiards parlor in Mount Dora, police said.

Victor Calles, 47 of Mount Dora, was arrested after police arrived about 12:30 a.m. at the bar and pool hall on Old U.S. Highway 441 and found him bleeding from a gash on his forehead, an arrest report said.

The confrontation started because Amanda Milicic, who was pregnant, refused to serve him alcohol because he had no valid ID, the report said. Milicic told police she soon after found Calles with a beer in his hand and took it away from him, when he yelled at her to “give me my [expletive] beer back!”

She told police that Calles then walked to the bar entrance and raised up his cane, according to the report, and said, “I will kill you!” Milicic’s boyfriend and another friend came up to Calles to escort him outside when an “altercation” broke out.

Brandon Knight pulled his friend Shane Watson away from a confrontation when “the sword was removed from its sleeve,” the report said; Knight then “received a cut on his right pinky and right ring finger.” Calles also “head butted” Watson “in the left temple” and grazed his arm with his sword.

According to the arrest report, Calles said “he was not sure what took place or how he got his injuries to his forehead.”

Calles’ brother, Jorge, was also there and “was said to have tried to calm Victor down to prevent any further altercation,” the report said. “However, there was no controlling Victor.”

He is currently out on a $15,000 bond.
