Clermont FL – – –
A day after warning residents about a possible flasher, Clermont police said Thursday that a McDonald’s employee reported a customer who came through the drive-thru and exposed himself at the pickup window.
But police think this was a different man than the one who was reported to have exposed himself to a woman outside a Target store about four miles away, according to Clermont police Sgt. Shane Strickland.
The latest incident occurred between 8 and 9:30 p.m. Monday at the McDonald’s at 4307 W. U.S. Highway 27, near the Kings Ridge retirement community. The man was driving a silver van, he said.
“The employee ignored the suspect, and the suspect drove away with no further contact,” Strickland said.
On Wednesday, police said they received reports of a man who exposed himself to customers at the Target store at 2660 E. U.S. Highway 50. A customer told employees a man exposed himself to her May 15 in the parking lot while sitting in a vehicle.
Target sent out correspondence to their employees to make them aware of the subject. Police were alerted to the Target incident by a Facebook post by a relative of the victim.
The next day, an employee of the Starbucks inside the same Target was approached by a white vehicle whose driver tried to engage her in conversation. She noticed the man’s zipper was undone as he asked for directions “and it occurred to her that this may be the subject mentioned in Target’s correspondence,” Strickland said.
The customer ignored the driver and hurried into the store.
Police are urging residents “to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious behavior and/or vehicles at any our businesses…,” Strickland said.
