Mob Psycho Season 4 Storyline
Tsubomi opens the episode by seeing the enormous storm that Mob’s fury is causing. Even though she knows she should leave, she waits for Mob nevertheless. At the same time, Reigen and Serizawa had difficulty getting close to Mob because of the wind. Serizawa tries his challenging but can’t bring them any closer. It’s okay, according to Reigen; he can make it to the end of the adventure without anyone else.
Slowly, although the real Mob is reluctant to approach Tsubomi, the unhinged Mob, who turns out to be a manifestation of Mob’s psychic powers, makes his way toward her. When Tsubomi lost interest in Mob’s powers as a child, he stopped utilizing them around her, but she still welcomed him. According to the crazed Mob, it wasn’t the real Mob who fell in love with her, but rather his powers, and that’s why he needs to see her right now.
In the background, Mob hears Reigen calling for him, and he realizes that, like Tsubomi, his master has never judged him negatively because of his abilities. The genuine Mob knows that Reigen has always treated him well, even though the insane Mob understands that Reigen has no skills and is a con artist. As Reigen watches in fear, Mob finally lets out the whole range of emotions he’s been suppressing for so long.
Mob’s body keeps going toward Tsubomi, confident that he has evaded Reigen; however, the latter has sprinted ahead to catch up with him. The mob is taken aback by the older man’s strength as he grips his hands to get him to slow down and communicate. Then Reigen glances up, letting it be known that he let Dimple take control of his body. Dimple says he was drawn to the energy, which helped him make his way back, but he’s having difficulty keeping his bearings now. Reigen acknowledges the spirit’s assistance but insists on a private conversation with Mob.
Reigen tears and admits the truth: he has no psychic talents and never has. He breaks down in tears, finally telling the mob the truth. He lied to Mob even when they first met in elementary school, and he’s been using Mob ever since. He explains, “I don’t have a clue when it comes to all this psychic crap, and that’s who I truly am.”
He says he feels terrible that he ever had the nerve to call himself Mob’s master but that what Mob is experiencing now is still perfectly normal. While he despises his evil tendencies, they help him bond with Mob, and, much like Mob’s abilities have improved him, they have also helped Mob. With the words, “You’re fine, just as you are,” Reigen informs Mob that he should be happy with himself.
While the real Mob is asking his powers whether they’ll ever welcome him the way all of his other buddies have, the countdown to his subsequent explosion continues to rise. Mob claims he wants things to return to normal, but his powers are still petrified of being rejected by Tsubomi, despite his assurances. Mob reassures himself that, should that occur, they will be able to pull through it. At long last, Mob can reassume command of his corporeal form. With only one flower in his bouquet, he sets out for Tsubomi. Dimple asks whether they should go with him, and Reigen reassures him that Mob must do this alone.
