Police reported that two Missouri children who had been kidnapped and had been missing for almost a year were found safe at a Winn-Dixie grocery store in Florida. Since they were allegedly kidnapped on March 15, 2022, Brooke, 11, and Adrian Gilley, 12, both of Clay County, Missouri, have been the subject of an investigation.
Kristi Nicole Gilley, the children’s non-custodial mother, is said to have kidnapped them. The vehicle’s owner was revealed to be a fugitive on February 1, 2023, according to the High Springs Police Department, when officers performed a routine tag check.

After hiding their identities, officers found the trio shopping at a Winn-Dixie, according to authorities. An ongoing kidnapping warrant led to the detention and arrest of Kristi Nicole Gilley.
The Florida Department of Children and Families Services received the children, who will now be reunited with their families. There have been no other case-related details disclosed. In Florida’s Alachua County, High Springs is a 30-minute drive from Gainesville.
