Shooter Kills Mother and Child in California: A shooter stood over a 16-year-old woman carrying her 10-month-old baby and pumped bullets into their heads, a sheriff said Tuesday. Six people were killed at home in a farming community in central California that had ties to drugs and guns.
Sheriff Mike Boudreaux of Tulare County said the teen was trying to escape the violence early Monday morning when the killers caught up with her outside her home in Goshen, a central California town of about 3,000 people in the agricultural San Joaquin Valley. They shot the young mother and her child “assassin-style,” he said.
The ages of the other four people killed ranged from 19 to 72, and one of them was a grandmother who was shot while she was sleeping. Their autopsies should be done by the end of the week.

The police said they were looking for two suspects and were willing to pay $10,000 for information that led to their arrests.
Boudreaux said at a news conference on Tuesday, “None of this happened by accident.” “It was planned, deliberate, and horrible.”
Boudreaux took back what he had said to reporters earlier, that the attack was probably a hit by a drug cartel. He said that investigators are also looking into whether it was gang violence.
“That is not out of the question,” the sheriff said. “It’s clear that these people were shot in the head, and they were also shot in places where the killer knew they would die quickly… This is also like being a member of a high-ranking gang and the way they kill people.”
The sheriff said that law enforcement knows about the house because it is where gang activity “has often happened in the past,” but he didn’t say more. He also said that not everyone shot was a drug dealer or gang member. He said that the teen, her grandmother, and the baby are among the people who are thought to be innocent.
On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said that Rosa Parraz, 72, Eladio Parraz, Jr., 52, Jennifer Analla, 49, Marcos Parraz, 19, Alissa Parraz, 16, and Nycholas Parraz, 10 months, were the people who were killed.
Boudreaux said that the people who killed the young mother and her child “had no reason” to do so.
