TEXAS – Texas has once again cemented its position as one of America’s fastest-growing economic powerhouses, setting a new all-time record for total jobs after a strong start to the year.

Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state added 40,100 nonfarm jobs in January, pushing total employment to a historic 14,379,500 jobs — the highest ever recorded in Texas.

Texas Economy Shows Strong Momentum

Highlighting the milestone, Governor Abbott said Texas continues to be a top destination for businesses and workers alike.

“Texas is where free enterprise thrives and opportunity is everywhere,” he said, pointing to the state’s business-friendly environment and continued investments in education, workforce training, and infrastructure.

Why Businesses Are Flocking to Texas

Governor Abbott emphasized that Texas’ pro-business policies are a major reason behind the surge in job creation. From tech to manufacturing, the state continues to attract companies looking to expand and relocate.

Speaking at the Forward Fort Worth mobility innovation summit, Abbott noted that nearly every major industry is already thriving in Texas — and more companies are on the way.

He also described Texas as one of the best places not just to start a business, but also to build a future.
