Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state added 40,100 nonfarm jobs in January, pushing total employment to a historic 14,379,500 jobs — the highest ever recorded in Texas.

According to data released by the Texas Workforce Commission:
- Texas added 40,100 jobs in January alone
- Total jobs reached a record 14,379,500
- The state’s labor force grew to 15,955,200
- Total employed Texans, including self-employed workers, stood at 15,267,100
- Texas added 112,200 jobs year-over-year, outperforming the national growth rate
