Tavares, FL – – –
Lake County sheriff’s detectives concluded a two-month investigation Friday by busting a Tavares drug house trafficking in methamphetamine and marijuana, deputies said.
Neighbor complaints about suspect drug dealing led deputies and Tavares police to investigate a home on Shorewood Drive near Lake Eustis, sheriff’s Lt. John Herrell said.
Detectives found “trafficking amounts of methamphetamine (14 grams), pre-packaged marijuana, a handgun, digital scales, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia,” Herrell said.
Robert A. Bruse, 38, of Tavares, was the main target of the investigation, he said. He faces charges including trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Dawn Gandall, 54, of Tavares was charged with possession of meth, pills and marijuana.
The state Department of Children and Families was notified because a child was in the home at the time the search warrant was executed, Herrell said. A family member took custody of the child, he said.
Both suspects were being held in the Lake County Jail, Gandall on $13,000 bond and Bruse on $81,000 bond.
