After their initial appearance on the X Factor in 2010, One Direction has unquestionably become one of the biggest boy bands of all time. The ITV singing competition’s third-place finishers, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne, went on to have the most successful careers as a band before starting equally successful solo careers. Pregnant Zayn ultimately left the group, and the members of “What Makes You Beautiful” continued to make music without him for an additional year before declaring their sabbatical in January 2016.

When Did Zayn Leave One Direction?
On March 25, 2015, the “Flames” hitmaker, who recently broke up with fiancée Gigi Hadid, announced his departure from the group. The lads were in the middle of their “On the Road Again Tour” at the time, and he quit after two months because of stress and worry, according to his representative at the time.
On March 18, 2015, he gave his final performance with the 1D lads in Hong Kong. Zayn wanted to quit the band to lead a “regular” life, according to a statement 1D posted on Facebook.
Zayn Malik has made the decision to depart from One Direction after five great years. As a four-piece, Niall, Harry, Liam, and Louis look forward to the upcoming shows of their global tour and the recording of their upcoming fifth album, which will be published later this year.
“My experience with One Direction has exceeded all of my expectations. But I believe that after five years, the moment is appropriate for me to quit the band.”
“If I’ve disappointed any of the fans, I apologize, but I have to follow my heart and do what seems right. I’m quitting because I want to be a regular 22-year-old who can unwind and enjoy some alone time away from the spotlight. Louis, Liam, Harry, and Niall are four people I know will always be my buddies. They are and always will be the best band in the world, in my opinion.”
