In Half Moon Bay, California, a shooter shot and murdered seven people at two different sites on Monday, shocking a region still reeling from a mass shooting that happened less than 48 hours before. According to authorities, Zhao Chunli, 67, of Half Moon Bay, was found in his car in a San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office substation parking area and was later detained in connection with the shootings.
They continued by saying that the neighborhood was not still under threat. Sheriff Christina Corpus stated that the man was apprehended “without incident” and was “completely cooperating” and that the investigation indicates that he acted alone. Capt. Eamonn Allen of the sheriff’s office claims that the authorities have not determined a motive.

According to him, local law enforcement is collaborating with the FBI and has not found evidence of the suspect’s criminal background or previous events at either crime scene. California Gov. Gavin Newsom posted on Twitter that he was visiting victims of the mass shooting that occurred on Saturday night at a ballroom in Monterey Park while news of the shooting was still developing.

In that assault, a shooter killed 11 individuals with his gun. Drama upon drama, the governor penned. The shootings on Monday occurred at approximately 2:20 pm in Half Moon Bay, a small beach community between San Francisco and Santa Cruz. Inland highlands are home to one of the state’s oldest agricultural towns, which hires migrant workers, and the beaches are a well-known surfing destination.
According to the sheriff’s office, at least one of the two properties was a plant nursery. Farmworkers were impacted this evening. Children were there when the incidents happened. At a news conference, San Mateo County Supervisor Ray Mueller described the incident as “very sad” for the community. He referred to the recent storms that battered the region. He declared that the stress present in this town for weeks “is extremely considerable.”
