The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a tragic collision on the Buckman Bridge. The crash took place shortly after 2 o’clock in the morning on Sunday.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 22-year-old man driving an SUV was heading south on the bridge when, for unknown reasons, the SUV rear-ended a 41-year-old man operating a motorized scooter.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the scooter driver, a male from Orange Park, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, passed away at the scene.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-truck was driving by the accident scene when it became disabled after hitting debris.
Both of the other drivers involved in the accident were unharmed.
After the collision, three lanes were shut, and it was anticipated that they would remain thus for some time.
