After allegedly rear-ending a pick-up truck that was parked on the side of a South Florida highway due to a flat tire, injuring the driver who was standing outside, troopers claim a former NFL star was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Vontae Davis, 34, could hardly stay awake while being questioned by a trooper following the accident early on Saturday on the Florida Turnpike in Hollywood, Florida. Davis smelled strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and could barely stay awake.

Davis reportedly lost control of his Tesla automobile, which then slammed into a parked pickup truck on the side of the highway, according to troopers. The pickup vehicle struck its driver who was standing outside after the collision and drove it spinning into a concrete barrier.
According to the story, the motorist was brought to a hospital after suffering severe wounds. According to the report, Davis refused to submit a sample of his blood or urine and wouldn’t consent to do a field sobriety test. He admitted to having two beers at a club to the trooper.
