FLORIDA’S LAKE COUNTY – After a 4-month-old baby passed away in May from a methamphetamine overdose, a mother and two men are now facing prosecution. Deputies say that Corey Mincey, 40, was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon. According to a news statement, the mother of the child, Jaden Colwell, 26, was also detained on Tuesday on suspicion of a different fatal drug overdose.
Robert Walters, 42, is still missing, according to investigators, and they think he may be in the Highland Lakes neighborhood. On May 19, just east of State Road 44, deputies claimed they were summoned to a mobile home along Dogwood Avenue close to DeLand. Logan Bixler, who was 4 months old, was found to be unconscious. The youngster, according to deputies, was carried to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.

According to a toxicology study, the toddler overdosed on meth, either by eating it or breathing it in and died as a result. Deputies claimed they found evidence that Colwell had let Mincey and Walters, two guys, enter the house to use drugs and that they had used meth in the nursery.
According to deputies, Colwell will be charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child in relation to Bixler’s passing. According to the press release, she was detained on Tuesday on suspicion of violating the terms of a man’s fentanyl overdose.
According to investigators, she sold Craig McDuffie the potent medication in July, just before he passed away. She is accused of distributing fentanyl illegally and causing that man’s death. There are manslaughter allegations against Mincey and Walters.
