American actor Timothée Hal Chalamet was born on December 27, 1995. At the beginning of his career, he worked in commercials and short films before making his first appearance on the tv drama Homeland in 2012. Soon after, in 2008, he made his debut in the drama Men, Women & Children, and in 2010, he participated in Christopher Nolan’s science fiction blockbuster Interstellar.
After gaining recognition for his performance as Elio Perlman in Luca Guadagnino’s romance movie Call Me by Your Name (2017), Chalamet went on to star in other critically acclaimed films, including Hot Summer Nights and Lady Bird and the critically panned western Hostiles. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Call Me by Your Name, the third-youngest contender in the category at the age of 22.
Timothee Chalamet Early Life
Timothée Hal Chalamet lived in the federally subsidized artists’ building Manhattan Plaza in Hell’s Kitchen as a child. He was born there on December 27, 1995. Pauline Chalamet, his older sister, is also an actress. Nicole Flender, his mother, is the third generation of her family to live in New York City. She is of mixed Jewish heritage and ancestry from Russia and Austria.
Flender has a background in teaching dance and French, in addition to her current role as a real estate broker at The Corcoran Group, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in French from Yale University. His French grandfather, Marc Chalamet, was a correspondent for Le Parisien in New York before becoming an editor for UNICEF. Marc was born and raised in Nîmes, a devout Protestant Christian. The Canadian grandmother of Timothée’s father was a transplant to France. His maternal grandparents are his uncle and aunt, filmmaking duo Rodman Flender and Amy Lippman.
Because his father is French, Chalamet speaks French and English fluently and has dual citizenship in the United States. To visit his paternal grandparents, Chalamet would spend his summers in Le Chambon-Sur-Lignon, a small French village located two hours outside Lyon. As a result of his time in France, he experienced difficulties with his sense of cultural identification in other countries.
When Chalamet was younger, he went to PS 87 William T. Sherman School. When he was older, he enrolled in the competitive Delta program at MS 54 Booker T. Washington Middle School, where he felt “trapped” because there was no place to express his artistic side. To pursue a career in acting, Heath Ledger watched his performance in The Dark Knight (2008).
Timothee Chalamet’s Career
Before making his television debut on an episode of the long-running police procedural series Law & Order (2009), Chalamet featured in several commercials and two horror short films, Sweet Tooth and Clown. Next, he appeared in a minor capacity in the telefilm Loving Leah (2009). In 2011, he made his stage debut as a s*xually curious 12-year-old in the Off-Broadway production The Talls, a coming-of-age comedy set in the 1970s.
As the New York Daily News senior theatre critic said, “Chalamet wonderfully nails a tween’s emerging curiosities about s*x.” In 2012, he had recurring appearances on the drama series Royal Pains and the thriller Homeland, where he played Finn Walden, the defiant son of the Vice President. Chalamet and the rest of the ensemble were nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Chalamet made his film debut in Jason Reitman’s Men, Women, & Children as a young guy. In the same year, he also played Tom Cooper in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar as the son of Matthew McConaughey’s character. The picture made over $700 million worldwide and was well-received by audiences and critics alike. Chalamet also appeared in the 2014 comedy Worst Friends in a supporting role, and the film was well-received by critics despite its limited theatrical release.
Is Timothee Chalamet Gay?
According to Timothee Chalamet’s s*xuality, he is not gay. He hasn’t come out as gay or straight, though. Since Timothée played a gay man in the film Call Me By Your Name, many people are curious about his s*xual orientation. He has never made any public statements regarding his s*xual orientation, and he has exclusively been romantically related to females.
Timothee Chalamet Relationship Status
Timothée Chalamet is a junior at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City in 2013. It would have to be Lourdes Leon, Madonna’s daughter. Timothée seems a little bashful when discussing the Material Girl designer during an interview with Andy Cohen for the film Call Me by Your Name in 2017.
Indeed, she hasn’t watched the film yet, but he assured me that she’s looking forward to it. She is enthusiastic about the movie itself and thinks the positive response it has received so far is terrific. It’s the sort of thing I’ve done late at night, along with its public-facing activities. A lot of people tease me. Although the young couple broke up in 2017, they appear to remain good friends and speak highly of each other.
Was Timothee Chalamet Gay In Call Me By Your Name?
In 2007, André Aciman’s novel about an unusual summer romance between two young men in Italy was published. Again this month, as the passive film adaptation opens, Call Me by Your Name was acclaimed as a modern homos*xual classic. Although the novel is reminiscent of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, its protagonists are more correctly described as bis*xual (if they can be characterized in fiction that stays steadfastly removed from current events and politics).
It’s true, though, that gay men are crazy about this tale of two young academics, Elio (Timothée Chalamet) and Oliver (Armie Hammer). They spend a few weeks together, living with Elio’s intellectual-bohemian family. The book became a rallying cry ten years ago, and copies were passed around like hotcakes as people shamed anyone who hadn’t read it. And now, thanks to the rave reviews, it seems like moviegoers just might fall in love with the story all over again.
