Julia Marie Budzinski, age 17, who was born in Richmond, Virginia, passed away due to injuries sustained in a boating accident on Saturday, July 2, 2022. She was a three-sport athlete at Glen Allen High School, competing in volleyball, soccer, and basketball.

She was about to enter her senior year at the Center for Education and Development at Glen Allen High School. Recent announcements at her school include being appointed a leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and being voted Vice President of the National Honor Society at her school.

First and foremost, Julia was a devoted daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She also played on a sports team.

Daughter Of Blue Jays First-Base Coach, Died In Tubing Accident

Paige Pearson, a spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, said in a statement that two young girls were injured when they fell off a tube that was being dragged behind a boat on the James River on Saturday.

The boat operator was returning to bring them out of the water when it was hit by a wave, which caused the boat to be forced on top of a victim who was 17 years old, causing the propeller to strike her. Monica Budzinski, Julia Budzinski’s mother, said at a memorial held at her daughter’s high school in Virginia on Sunday night that her daughter’s “final day on earth was a very wonderful, fun last day for her.” Monica claims that she was with her daughter when they were on the boat.

“It’s really unfortunate, of course, but she was smiling, laughing, and having a good time, and that’s how I’m going to remember her, and that’s how everyone else ought to remember her as well. She had a passion for living, for the outdoors, for athletics, and for everything else. “She’ll live on through all of you guys,” her family said. According to Pearson, there is no reason to suspect foul play.

There was no alcohol involved, and everyone wore their life jackets. After learning that his daughter had passed away, Mark Budzinski resigned from the Blue Jays during the second game of the team’s doubleheader against the Rays on Saturday. He departed the team during the third inning of the second game. According to a statement released by the Blue Jays, Budzinski will be taking some time away from the organization in order to be with his family while they grieve.
