According to the police, a woman whose disappearance was reported on January 2 was confirmed to be the person whose body was discovered in a park close to the Intercounty Connector (ICC) in Montgomery County. According to the Montgomery County Police Department, the corpse was found at approximately 2:01 p.m. on Saturday in Upper Paint Branch Stream Valley Park in Colesville, located at the intersection of Hobbs Drive and Somerset Lane.

According to the statements made by family members to the police on December 30, 2022, Chavez-Dominguez was last seen at her residence in the 12300 block of Braxfield Court. After some time, on January 2nd, her disappearance was reported.
On December 31, 2022, a witness told the police that they saw Chavez-Dominguez leaving her apartment complex with a Hispanic male. This information was provided to the police by the agency.
