Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story Season 2 Plot
The first scene of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story features the notorious serial killer’s neighbor engrossed in television. She learns that a black officer on a covert operation was brutally assaulted by five white officers. She seems to feel for the people involved and is outraged by recent occurrences and racial intolerance.
When Dahmer hears a drilling sound, the episode rapidly changes to what’s going on in her flat. Blood is all over a saw, and he’s wiping it down. He was caught casually washing the saw like a plate of dirty dishes. To what end has he put someone’s life? Which body did that come from? And what’s with his carefree attitude toward it?
Dahmer checks out of the apartment. On his way out, his neighbor, the woman we’ve already met, stops him to inquire about a foul odour coming from his flat. Jeff tries to make up stories about how his fish died and his meat went bad and so on, but it looks like she sees through his excuses.
His responses to her questions give the impression that he is completely unconcerned. Even though we are, of course, watching a program about a mass murderer, something about him seems severely off. He just appears a little too cool about the whole thing. As Jeff leaves the building, he passes a missing person’s flier for a man named Oliver Lacy. Is Jeff involved in this in any way? Is it possible he killed him?
They see Jeff enter a gay bar. He approaches a guy and offers to buy him a drink. It doesn’t take long to figure out that Jeff had asked two of the men there if he could buy them drinks earlier and then ignored the request. When asked why he didn’t act sooner or if he won’t act this time, he declares, “Tonight I’m a man of action.”
He then claims that taking naked pictures of people is an artistic endeavor and offers them $50 in exchange. Unable to find his shirt, the man sprints as fast as he can. He’s screaming for help as he runs for his life. Lucky for him, he manages to flag down a passing police car and informs the officers of what happened at Jeff’s place.
Because he is black, the police approach him warily at first, but after hearing him out, they take him to Jeff’s apartment to clarify what he has said. Jeff says it’s a homosexual issue when asked why he handcuffed the man. As Jeff searches for them, the officers knock and demand entry. Jeff has no choice but to allow them in. Jeff tells the cops that he locked the key in his bedroom.
The officer tells Jeff to stand with the other cop while he searches Jeff’s room for the key. Here he finds paintings of several of the victims Jeff had previously slain. The man is relieved that Jeff has been apprehended and will soon be in detention. She claims that the cops ignored her frequent calls to report weird noises and odours coming from Jeff’s house because of his race.
Jeff’s parents get a call from the police right away. The fact that Jeff is a child of a divorce and that his father’s recent hernia surgery had a profound effect on his personality is revealed when the latter is questioned by the police. Jeff’s father is visibly shocked and profoundly disappointed in his son when the police tell him about his suspected homicides, attempted murder, and possible cannibalism.
The law enforcement officials then give him time to think about all they’ve said. Jeff’s building’s occupants have been issued a safety notice advising them to exit their apartments in a cautious manner. Our new next-door neighbor insists at first that she is completely lost. It would seem that she is in a corner and cannot escape this predicament. It’s left hanging at the end of the chapter: how many people did Jeffrey Dahmer kill?
