Ontario Shooting: Two suspects wanted in connection with the incident have been apprehended, and one OPP officer from the Haldimand County detachment has been slain in the line of duty. Shortly after 2:30 pm on Tuesday, the officer was shot while responding to a car in a ditch at the crossroads of Indian Line and Concession 14. This is west of Hagersville. Constable Grzegorz Pierzchala has been recognized as the cop. Just over a year had passed since the 28-year-old, who went by the name Greg, joined the OPP.
Pierzchala was sent to a nearby hospital with critical, potentially fatal wounds. Later, his death was confirmed. According to the police, two persons were observed running from the shooting scene. An emergency alert message was sent to nearby community members at 5:43 p.m., telling them to stay in place because they thought the suspects were armed. A picture of 25-year-old Randall McKenzie and an unidentified woman was provided. The message’s subject was a 2021 black Chevrolet pickup with an Ontario license plate.

They said no other information regarding the Tuesday arrests would be made public. According to OPP, the family of Pierzchala is currently requesting seclusion.

I was devastated to learn about this unfortunate tragedy because it involved a senseless act of violence and a young life lost so soon while performing official duties, Hill added. “I also want to thank the Six Nations Police, the Ontario Provincial Police, and all other services that assisted this operation for their quick capture of the suspects and for keeping our communities secure,” he continued.
