The Pikmin games were never as popular as Nintendo’s other franchises like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, or even Metroid, but it hasn’t stopped Nintendo from making more. And that’s fantastic news because the Pikmin series is absolutely brimming with creativity, humor, and charm. The fourth installment in the Pikmin series was officially announced during Nintendo’s September 2022 Direct.

Pikmin 4: When Will It Come Out?
Pikmin 4 is set to come out sometime in 2019. We don’t know much else about the game, especially since it was just shown at Nintendo’s September Direct.
We don’t know when we’ll find out more about the game, but since we only got a small hint, I’d guess it comes out in the second half of 2023. But I hope it’s not too far into 2023 because Pikmin has always seemed like a spring or summer game to me.

Gameplay
The gameplay of Pikmin combines aspects of real-time strategy and puzzle solving, and it often features a time-based mechanism in which the player must collect resources before the sun sets. There is usually a sizable world to discover, full of dangerous enemies to vanquish, items to find, and fruit to eat. Playing as a space traveler with the ability to direct the Pikmin throughout the play area. Different planets from across the cosmos serve as backdrops for the game’s many stages.
The Rock Pikmin, for instance, can be tossed at walls and other constructions to easily break them down. You’ll need these Pikmin to get through the levels and reach the boss fights at the end of each world. Pikmin stands out from the crowd as a result of its innovative combination of strategy, time management, and clever puzzle elements.
Not much is known about Pikmin 4, but Nintendo has confirmed that for the first time in the series, players will be able to experience the game from Pikmin’s point of view. The isometric perspective of the previous Pikmin games allows for a wide field of view. We don’t know if this new viewpoint will be a separate mode or if it will be selectable, so we’ll have to see what Nintendo has in store.
Platform
The Switch version of Pikmin 4 has been confirmed. As a first-party Nintendo title, it will not be ported to other platforms.
The release of Pikmin 3 on the Wii U and Switch suggests that the game could eventually make its way to Nintendo’s next console. However, the Nintendo Switch is the sole confirmed platform for Pikmin 4.
Is There a Pikmin 4 Trailer?
The trailer that was shown during Nintendo’s September Direct is the only thing we know about Pikmin 4. It showed 30 seconds of footage, which was a very small taste of what was to come.
We saw bits and pieces of different parts of a garden setting. It’s obvious that the player will explore these areas with their Pikmin, paying special attention to a small path under a bench and a sleeping Bulborb next to a clock. We didn’t see much more than that; there wasn’t enough information for us to guess anything else.
