The Conjuring 4 Release Date? Few current horror film franchises are as popular or well-known as The Conjuring films. James Wan’s films are partly based on terrifying “real-life” events, including demons, spirits, and paranormal investigators in danger.
Five spin-off ghost movies, including The Nun and Annabelle, have been released in addition to the three core Conjuring films, which have increased the IP’s popularity and box office success. People are already clamoring for further installments of the horror series after the most recent movie, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, made over $206 million worldwide. Let’s face it: everyone eagerly awaits the next demon and innocent family encounter.
We’ve heard your creepy cries, and like Lorraine and Ed Warren, The Digital Fix has done its homework and is prepared to delve into every aspect of the impending Conjuring-verse installment. Here is all the information you need to know about The Conjuring 4’s release date, storyline, cast, and other details.
The Conjuring 4 Release date
The Conjuring 4 has been confirmed to be in production, which is terrific news. The horror film has not yet been given a release date as of December 2022, though.
But don’t worry, aficionados of the supernatural! Even though we currently don’t have formal confirmations on production schedules, we can still make an informed judgment when the movie is most likely released. We predict there will be a pause before The Conjuring 4 hits theatres because The Conjuring-verse is currently quite busy, with The Nun 2 scheduled to hit theatres on September 8, 2023.
Given this, the most likely release date is 2024. Take this prediction with a grain of salt, considering there was a two-year gap between the release of Annabelle Comes Home in 2019 and the previous film, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. As soon as we find out more, we’ll inform you.

The Conjuring 4 Plot
Each Conjuring movie is loosely based on a real-life case that Ed and Lorraine Warren looked into. So, The Conjuring 4 doesn’t have a solid plot summary yet, but if we look at the Warrens’ timeline and real-life careers, we can get a pretty good idea of what could be coming to the big screen.
The Devil Made Me Do It was the last movie in the series. It came out in 1981, after Arne Johnson’s trial. So it makes sense that the couple’s next case will be one after that year (we all love a chronological timeline, don’t we?). And if that’s the case, we horror fans are in for a scary treat!
Most likely, the upcoming movie will be based on the 1986 investigation of the Snedeker house, which was a funeral home full of demons that caused a family to be haunted. Or, the Warrens could look into the Smurl haunting, where Jack and Janet Smurl said a demon lived in their house until 1989.
So, after the last movie took us to court, it looks like we’ll return to where The Conjuring movies started with another haunted house ghost movie. But we also think more details based on legends and made-up will be added to the mix.
In the last movie, we met The Occultist. She didn’t make it through the movie, but as a member of The Disciples of Ram, she reminded us of a cult from The Conjuring universe. Before The Conjuring 3, the Disciples of Ram were only mentioned briefly. They want to bring more demons into the world, which is their primary goal.
Since The Conjuring 3 reminded us that they exist, this mysterious group will likely show up in some way in the next movie. And who knows, Valak, the demon, and The Occultist, who seems to have been sent to hell, could become the next big bad guys in the franchise.

The Conjuring 4 Cast
Even though it hasn’t been confirmed, we’d be surprised if Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga didn’t come back as Ed and Lorraine Warren since a Conjuring movie wouldn’t be the same without them. They seem willing to go out again, so it shouldn’t be hard to get them to come back.
“Oh my God, I’d love to continue,” Farmiga said. “We always want to push these characters,” Wilson added. I would like to, if only because I want to keep playing against Vera.” Farmiga also said in April 2021 that there is “definitely some talk of continuing,” so we’ll have to wait and see what happens there.
Other returns are harder to predict, especially since the third movie didn’t have many crossovers from the more expansive Conjuring universe. Sterling Jerins was back as Judy Warren, Steve Coulter was back as Father Gordon, and Shannon Kook was back as Drew Thomas. They might appear in the fourth movie, but that’s probably the last time we’ll see them.
Like the other Conjuring movies, a fourth one would be about a whole new case, which means that most of the cast, besides the main ones, would be new.
