According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, a murder-suicide occurred Thursday morning at Delta View Farms, a big dairy located on Avenue 304 just south of Road 48 in Goshen.

The shooting took place in the dairy’s milking barn. According to responding deputies, the incident also resulted in the injury of one other person.

The victim was brought to a neighboring hospital, where their status was last reported to be stable.

At approximately 10:30 in the morning, an incident was reported.

Authorities from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office revealed at a press conference on Thursday that they believe the suspect shot and killed two persons before taking his own life.

Investigators with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office are still trying to piece together the shooter’s motivation and their connection to the victims and the property where the incident took place.

Lt. Jason Kennedy of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said, “I don’t know that anybody could have prevented this.” “It’s similar to how we secure and enclose our children’s schools. Dairies aren’t likely to adopt the such practice.”

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation was made more difficult due to the location. Workers still had to carry cows out of the facility after witnessing the gunshot, while milking was still in progress so that investigators could preserve any residual evidence.

In order to obtain additional evidence, detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence.

They are under the impression this was an isolated incidence and the danger has passed.
